I noticed that Max wasn't feeling that well Saturday, but he did not have a fever at that time. When he woke up Sunday he had a terrible cough and a fever of 102. The fever never went down that day and the cough and shortness of breath only seemed to get worse. So, first thing Monday morning I made an appointment to see his doctor. After waiting 3 hours, and getting 2 chest x-rays we found out that Max has viral pneumonia. We were told that he needs lots of rest and to give him some mucinex to help get the fluid off his lungs.
Tuesday, he still had a high fever and was still not feeling well. Max is a very active boy, and he really wanted to run around but he just wasn't able to do much. Wednesday, he still had a fever but not as high. His activity level was around the same as the day before. Thursday (today), he did not have a fever when he got up this morning (yay!). His activity level has still been the same, but at least we have no fever. At night it only seems to get worse, so we are hoping for a better night tonight. It breaks my heart when I put him to bed and he starts to cough, cry and say owie. Only happy thoughts, ready for our little man to feel better!
