Spring Break

I have fallen a little behind on our blog this week because Max's school was out for Spring Break.  Which means I got to spend the whole week with my little man, and I really tried to keep him busy.  We played with bubbles, went to our neighborhood baseball field/playground, got a haircut, went for a long walk to our local yogurt shop, took tons of family walks, played with all our outside toys, and of course he played a "little" golf here and there.  Here are a "few" pictures from our week.

Took little man to the baseball field/playground and had a blast playing baseball and going down the BIG slide.  He was a little hesitant at first, but after that first slide down he was hooked.

Max is getting so brave!  He climbed up this climbing wall all by himself.  I had to help him the rest of the way, but we were both proud of his accomplishment.

Max really does love his dogs.  He likes to use Conan as a pillow while he watches a little tv before bed.

This week has been so nice that we have been eating dinner on the back porch.  Well, we have discovered that Max eats a lot more food when we eat outside.  Now I have been letting him have his breakfast on the porch.  Whatever works, right.

I finally broke down and took Max to get his haircut.  He usually wants to sit in my lap, but this time he decided he could do it on his own.  He was such a good boy and didn't move or cry a bit.  Like I said, he is getting brave.

After getting his haircut and going to the grocery store with me it was time to let little man get some of his energy out and play in the backyard.  I just love when the weather is nice.  This boy could live outside!

Our local yogurt shop is a good 30 minute walk from our house.  So I thought it would be fun for us to make the trip by foot.  Max loves the yogurt place!

I tried to wear Max out all week with activities and I guess this day he just passed out.  Walked into the living room and found him like this.  He didn't move for 2 hours.

We took a lot of family walks this week after dinner.  We have a lot of new construction going on in the area and Max just loves to check out the bulldozers, or anything with big wheels.

Another example of how much Max loves his dogs.  Here he is with Zeppelin.

Max loves to wear his dads sunglasses and thinks he's pretty cool when he checks himself out in the mirror.  Unfortunately for Charles' sunglasses Max had a little too much fun and broke them.  The fun was not over because he got a bigger kick out of looking at himself with dad's broken sunglasses.  He is a nut!

Grandpa got Max a huge bag of tools for Christmas and he just can't get enough of them.  He even wears the protective goggles when he's working.  He even left the goggles on to hit a couple of balls in the house.

We ended Max's busy week by inviting his friends Riley and Lucas over for dinner and fun.  They all had a great time!

Ardmore Visit - Sunday March 13 to Thursday March 17

Max and I went on a little adventure together to Ardmore, OK.  It was time for us to make a trip to see Mimi, Papa, Uncle Craig, and Great Grandpa.  We decided to fly instead of drive (flying takes 45 minutes and driving is 6 hours), and this was going to be Max's very first time to fly on a plane.  I was a little nervous about the idea because I for one am not a fan of flying, but Max did great.  I gave him the window seat and he just stared out the window.  We did thankfully pack the Ipad so Max could watch a little bit of a movie.  I am so proud of little man for being so good on the plane!

When we arrived in Dallas my mom was waiting for us in the baggage claim area.  As soon as Max saw his Mimi he took off running for her.  It was so cute to watch.

As soon as we arrived in Ardmore Mimi had golf clubs waiting for Max, and you guessed it, he starting playing golf immediately.  Then, Uncle Craig came over to say hi before he went to the skate park.  We told Max about the park and he really wanted to go see Uncle Craig skate.  Max had a great time skating with Craig and watching him do some tricks.

We got back to the house and Max went right back to playing golf.  I was able to snap this quick picture of him and Papa.

Monday, Grandpa came to visit Max from Oklahoma City.  Max hasn't seen his Grandpa since his second birthday so he was very excited to hear that he was coming.  Plus, he brought Christmas presents!  Max got a whole new set of tools and even power tools!  Little man was in heaven all day.  He played tools with grandpa and of course GOLF.  Thanks for coming to visit us Grandpa...we missed you!

Tuesday, we took Max to the train station to see if we could catch one driving by.  To our surprise we did get to see a train.  Unfortunately, it made such a loud noise that it scared Max and he wanted to leave immediately.  So we took him to the park thinking it might cheer him up but it didn't.  He was just having one of those days.

Wednesday, we took Max GW's Exotic Animal Park (http://www.gwpark.org/) in Wynnewood, OK.  If you live in Oklahoma and you haven't been to this place you should definitely check it out.  Much better than a zoo.  We got to see all kinds of animals at pretty close range.  As we were waiting for our tour of the back part of the park Max made a new friend, Addison.  Since they got along so well we all decided that we should just join forces and do a tour together.  Max and Addison had a great time walking around together looking at the animals.  At the end of our tour we were able to spend a little time with a 6 week old tiger cub.  Pretty much the coolest thing ever.  Max got to play with the tiger on the ground and even let the tiger climb on him.  So glad I was able to get a few pictures before our guide took the tiger off Max.  We all had such a great time!

Thurday, we had to pack up our things and head back to Dallas to catch our plane to Little Rock.  We had such a great time!  Thanks for having us Mimi and Papa!  See you next time!

Birds

I love watching birds while we are outside and never get my camera fast enough to get a few pictures.  While in Ardmore visiting my mom I decided to have the camera with me every time I was outside.  My mom has the prettiest birds fly around in her backyard.  I was lucky enough to get a few pictures.

Driving Range

It was such a beautiful day today that we decided to take Max to the driving range.  He's been talking about going to the "golf place" for a while.  He had such a great time and hit the ball so well with his new iron.  He would have hit balls all day if we let him.

Hitting his first ball

Dad giving him some pointers

Loving the "golf place"

Watching dad hit the ball to the sky

Love my golfin boys

He is such a natural

Thinking

Hit their balls at the same time

Back swing

Gonna hit that ball

As Max would say, "FUN DAY!"
We will definitely be bringing him back to the driving range again.  Max loves this sport so much!  He could play it all day and then watch it on tv when he's not outside.  He knows how to take mom and dad's phone, get on youtube, and watch "golf videos".  We love our little golfer!
