Playing in the Dirt

Max and I took a little trip to Target today and we, of course, had to stop by the toy section.  I always tell him, we are just looking, not buying.  We get to their $1-$3 baskets and Max sees a couple of things he just can't leave the store without.  1.  Shovel 2.  Rake 3.  Water/Dirt toy.  He hands all three of these items to me and asked if we can put them in the cart.  I asked him why he wanted to purchase these items and his response was very simply, I want to play in the dirt when we get home.  I said okay (it cost me a total of $4 for these fun items), and we rushed to the register to check out.  We get home and Max instantly grabs the toys and hands them to me.  Mom, take off the tags.  I cut the tags and he's out the door.  I give him a couple of minutes and find him exactly where he said he was going to be, the dirt.  The previous owners of this house had a garden of veggies and herbs, something I am not in to, and now it's just a box of dirt and left over herbs.  I ran inside to get Charles to set up an umbrella so that Max could play in the shade.  Little man played outside in the dirt for 2 hours, and the dogs enjoyed watching him play too.  Zeppelin even got in the dirt with Max.  He would have stayed longer if it wasn't time for a nap, and I could tell by the last picture I snapped that he was pretty warn out.  I gave him a quick shower and put him down for a nap.  I have a feeling I know where he's going to be spending the majority of his days this summer.  Enjoy the pictures!

Happy Birthday Uncle Craig!

Our New Pool

Since it has already been so miserable hot here in Arkansas we decided to buy a little pool to put on the deck to keep cool.  We found this pool at Walmart for $15 and let me tell you it's pretty great.  There is enough room for me and Charles to sit and relax and plenty of room for Max to swim and play.  And I found this great chair for Max at Academy for only $6.  We are set for the summer!

Check out this video of Max having a dance party in his new pool.

Happy Birthday Sebrina!

Swimming

The Fazio's invited us to join them for a little swim at their neighborhood pool.  Their pool is so cool and Max had a blast playing in the kiddie section.  Thanks for inviting us Fazio's!

The Phrase That Pays

Here are some of the new things that Max really likes to say...
  • Don't say that, that's a bad word
  • Shush (while he puts his finger over his month), be quiet
  • NO, that's MY dog!  (He's referring to Zeppelin)
  • Oh my gosh!
  • What's that?  (His new favorite game to play 24/7)
  • Mom:  I love you Max, Max:  I love dad.  Dad:  I love you Max, Max:  I love mom.
  • Dogs go outside with me
  • I want to go to the golf place!  (The driving range)
It's so funny to hear him say all these things because he has certain facial expressions for each one.  He is such a character!

Kristin and Ben's Engagement Pictures

I was lucky enough to take Kristin and Ben's engagement pictures while we were in Destin.  They were so much fun to shoot and I think all the pictures turned out great!  Thanks for letting me take your pictures!  Miss you guys!

Florida

We had such a great time in Destin!  We got in really late Saturday night and Max was already asleep before we got to our room so Charles and I were really excited to show him the view in the morning.  Max woke up first, of course, and we hopped out of bed with him to show him the beach.  He loved it!

After everyone got up we had breakfast, got our swimsuits on and headed to the beach.  And that's pretty much what we did the next 3 days.  Max loved playing in the water, the sand, and even got brave and went out into the water where he couldn't touch.  Here are pictures from all 3 days at the beach.

Sunday Kristin and Ben came to see us from Pensacola.  We got to hang out with them and then they joined us for dinner at the Back Porch.  It was so good to see both of them!  Can't wait to see them again in July for their wedding!

By the 4th day we were all a little beached out so we decided to take Max to the Gulfarium.  He got to see a sea lion and dolphin show, and they even had sharks in one of their tanks.

On our last night in Florida Charles and I went out for a little date night.  We had dinner at the Melting Pot and then found a nice shopping center to walk around and just enjoy each others company.

We all had a GREAT trip and we will def be going back to Destin again!
